The Great Fair Dare
What is The Great Fair Dare?
The Great Fair Dare is a team race that’s part photo hunt, part trivia and part dares. Teams of 2 must solve clues to find checkpoints throughout the fairgrounds. To move on they must take photos or perform dares to earn passport stickers. Each team must determine their own route to the checkpoints. Most teams will finish in about 2 to 3 hours. The Great Fair Dare challenge is to be the first team to check in after successfully completing checkpoint dares and getting required photos.

What are dares?
Dares are challenges that may be physical or mental. You may have to climb a wall, ride a pig, solve a riddle, or eat something (no slimy bugs like on Fear Factor). We expect most people will be capable of completing all of the dares. We want to challenge you, while keeping it fun.
What is the course?
There is no set course. We give clues to find checkpoints and each team can determine their own course. The clues are not in a logical order.
Do I need a digital camera?
Definitely. At the end of the race you must be able to show you took the required photos. The perfect tool for this race is a phone with built in camera and internet. Any digital camera where you can show your pictures will do. If you don’t have one, you certainly know someone who does.
How can I move to checkpoints?
You may walk or run. Racers may not interfere with other teams, on-going fair events, fair attendees/exhibitors, or vendors.
How long will the race last?
Most teams will finish in 3 hours. There is a 4 hour time limit.
What if I can’t find a checkpoint?
If you can't find a checkpoint, keep looking, ask for help, and look for other teams moving towards a checkpoint. Most clues give you the general location, so move towards it while you figure things out — you might just stumble upon it. The checkpoint clues are designed to be solved by every team with a minimal amount of trouble. A friend on hand with access to the Internet can help solve most questions quickly.
Can I register without a partner?
Yes, you can register alone, but you must have a partner for race day.
What does it cost to participate?
Each team of 2 will pay a fee of $20, with a limit of 20 teams.
What are the prizes?
The first team to complete the course and present their passport will win $50; second place team will win $25, and third place TBA, and fourth place TBA.
Where do the proceeds go?
The Great Fair Dare is a fundraiser for non- and not-for-profit groups participating in the race. Thank you to our sponsors for helping make our fundraiser an even bigger success.
